The "Sign Painters" Documentary has been making its way around the country with private and small theater screenings. Touring as a one man band, one parts nostalgia, one parts war cry. The Documentary: Directed by Faythe Levine & Sam Macon, "explores this unacknowledged art form through anecdotal accounts from artists across the country including Ira Coyne, Bob Dewhurst, Keith Knecht, Norma Jeane Maloney and Stephen Powers." If you haven't seen it, check their site for a screening around you, or you can order a digital version right now / pro-order a dvd coming soon. It's really a great film for any Graphic Designer or Art type. Anyone who uses their hands and/or respects those that do. If you love American culture, you'll want to see this film.
Part of this event was the joining of an exhibition of pieces from the film as well as a sample of Pre-Vinylite Society/ Colt Bowden's ICY CAPS group show. A show that focuses on hand painted signs with a little frost to them. ICY CAPS has been traveling around the country as well. It was truly special to see both shows in one at the MARCAS Gallery (DwnTwn Santa Ana.)

Special Thanks to Colt Bowden, The Pre-Vinylite Society, The MARCAS Gallery and everyone involved on the Sign Painters Movie! Now go see it!
